Recently, CCS Psychologist Aisha Wilson Middleton was announced as the recipient of the prestigious 2023-2024 School Psychologist of the Year award. Middleton's dedication to students and unwavering commitment to their well-being have made her an outstanding choice for this honor. Middleton's journey into school psychology began over a decade ago. Her passion for helping students reach their full potential has never wavered. After obtaining her undergraduate degree from Winthrop University in 2009, she earned her master's and specialist degrees from Francis Marion University in 2013. Middleton's unique path to becoming a school psychologist started at a young age when she was adopted and met her new big brother. Growing up with him and experiencing his diverse needs profoundly influenced her career choice. Over the past 11 years, Middleton has dedicated her career to making a difference in students' lives. Her initial four years of service were in Scotland County before she found her calling in CCS. For the past seven school years, Middleton has been a valuable member of the Douglas Byrd District, contributing significantly to improving school-wide behaviors.
