About 70 families and over 100 visitors converged on Glendale Acres Elementary School from 8:00 - 8:45 a.m. on September 27 to celebrate Donuts for Grownups! The parent engagement event gave families some precious time to enjoy a delicious Krispy Kreme doughnut with their child or grandchild in their learning environment at the elementary school.
CCS' Family and Community Engagement Liaison, Dadma Consalvi, was recently selected as the representative for Cumberland County on the Center for Safer Schools (CFSS) Parent Engagement Committee. Consalvi joins a dedicated team that is focused on addressing safety challenges within the K-12 education system that spans both public and charter schools. As part of their commitment to enhance school safety, CFSS has launched the Parent Engagement Committee to empower parents and amplify their voices to ensure their child's safety at school.
CCS' Military Family and Youth Liaisons Zakira Rich and Reginald Fields recently attended the North Carolina Defense Summit (NCDS) 2023, which took place in Raleigh, NC. Through the sharing of state and national best practices, NCDS works to build and strengthen the military community and defense industry.
