Cumberland County Schools Launches Key Communicators Program to Foster Community Engagement
Fayetteville, NC — Dr. Marvin Connelly Jr. and the Communications and Community Engagement Department of Cumberland County Schools (CCS) have created a first-of-its-kind program for the school system. In a strategic move aimed at enhancing community engagement and building student success, CCS is thrilled to announce the launch of the Key Communicators Program. This new initiative aligns seamlessly with CCS' Strategic Priority 4: Committed Community, which focuses on engaging schools, parents, and the community in collectively fostering student success.
The inaugural meeting of the Key Communicators was held today, bringing together representatives from diverse communities to collaborate with CCS Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr. The district’s aim is to create an additional platform for open dialogue, discussion and the exchange of crucial information between CCS and its stakeholders.
"In Cumberland County Schools, we believe that success is built on collaboration and engagement with our community," said Dr. Connelly. "The Key Communicators Program is a vital step toward strengthening our connection with our valued stakeholders and ensuring that we are working together to achieve our goals for student success."
Key Communicators are individuals who are deeply committed to building thriving communities by actively participating in the exchange of information within their communities. They play a pivotal role in facilitating positive growth and success for Cumberland County and its residents. The Key Communicators program will provide valuable insights into the community's perceptions of CCS' success in achieving these goals.
Members of the Key Communicators Program commit to a term of two years and to attend quarterly meetings at CCS' Central Services Office in Fayetteville, NC. They will come prepared to share information with CCS leaders that they have gathered through their interactions with community members, including things that are working well in the school system as well as things that need to be improved. The district will also partner with Key Communicators to disseminate accurate information about district initiatives to the community at large, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of the education system.
