Cumberland County Schools Transitions to Remote Learning Thursday, August 31, 2023
Fayetteville, N.C. – In anticipation of inclement weather conditions that may impact our region and with the safety of our students, employees, and families in mind, Thursday, August 31, 2023, will be an asynchronous remote learning day for Cumberland County Schools (CCS) students.
During an asynchronous remote learning day, students work independently on assignments that are uploaded to the Canvas learning management platform or provided by teachers before departing school. Elementary and middle school students will have five days to complete and submit their assignments, and high school students will have three days. Students enrolled in classes at Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville Technical Community College and College Connections should contact their instructors for additional guidance.
The district’s Prime Time Before & After School Program will be closed on Thursday. All athletic events and after-school activities scheduled for Wednesday evening and Thursday have been canceled or rescheduled.
District offices and school buildings will be closed on Thursday, and employees will work remotely. Essential personnel and employees with questions should contact their direct supervisor for additional guidance.
District officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide additional updates as needed. CCS’ inclement weather plan focuses on the safety of students and staff. Visit the district's website and social media pages to receive updates.
