Exceptional and Responsive Service in
Cumberland County Schools
Greetings, Team CCS!
I want to thank you for the countless hugs, handshakes, smiles and laughs we shared together at Convocation 2023. It was a great way to kick off the new school year, and I appreciate the energy you brought to that event.
You may recall I mentioned the emphasis our district is putting on customer service and community engagement. After all, we know that the academic success of our students is largely based on a positive working relationship between the school, the home and the students.
To that end, we are initiating a new strategy to help us improve the service offered throughout our district. We have partnered with the American Association of School Customer Service, a North Carolina-based organization, to bring you an “Exceptional and Responsive Service Training Module.”
This module is actually a video, about 30 minutes in length, that is filled with tips and strategies for improving the service we offer to our students, parents and community. We are asking every CCS team member to watch this video no later than August 31.
Please watch the video below. Upon completion of the module, complete this form to acknowledge that you have watched the video.
Accomplishing our Strategic Plan Priority 3: Exceptional Environment includes improving the customer service experience. Thank you for joining us in making customer service an important part of what we do this year. I appreciate your commitment to the mission.
Sincerely,
Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr.
Superintendent
NOTE: This 30-minute customer service module is for all employees. However, in addition to this module, frontline employees district-wide (e.g. clerical staff, secretaries, administrative assistants, etc.), principals, and cabinet members are required to complete an additional Customer Service Certification Course. Detailed information about the launch of that course will be shared in a separate communication.
