P.U.S.H. (PERSEVERE UNTIL SUCCESS HAPPENS): A NIGHT OF MOTIVATION WITH FORMER NFL PLAYER KEITH DAVIS
Thursday, March 30, 2023
5-6 p.m.: Dinner
6-7 p.m.: Session with Keith Davis
Lewis Chapel Middle School

According to Davis, “You were not born a winner or a loser, you were born a chooser.” This interactive session will provide students and families with the tools to make the right choices in life and overcome challenges that seek to deter them from reaching their goals. Davis is a former college and professional football player who has learned many lessons about winning and losing over the course of his life.
Not only did Keith Davis have a very tough childhood, but he also struggled academically, as he persevered to overcome his remedial reading problems as a high school student. Yet, through intense hard work and much-needed help, he eventually overcame those challenges. At USC, Davis was an All-Conference player and the team’s lead tackler. He won two championship rings, one of which was a Rose Bowl Championship. Davis held the highest grade point average on the football team and graduated with a degree in Business Finance. He then signed with the New York Giants and was one of the strongest players on the team, bench-pressing 515 pounds and leg-pressing 1,800 pounds.
After a football injury ended his National Football League (NFL) career, Davis decided to dedicate his life’s work to motivational speaking in hopes of being a positive voice for today’s youth. His resounding message to students and families is that with effort, a focus on education and the excellence they already possess, they too, can be champions. Davis has appeared on ESPN and ABC; he has been covered in USA Today and Sports Illustrated. He is an entrepreneur, educator and speaker, having spoken in more than 9,000 schools, universities and corporations.
About Cumberland Family Academy
Cumberland Family Academy (CFA) provides FREE workshops and educational events for the families of Cumberland County Schools (CCS). As part of its strategic plan, CCS launched CFA during the 2020-21 school year. From research, we understand that students achieve more when families are involved in their education. The purpose of the CFA program is to provide families with tools to support the success of their children’s education and to bring schools, parents/guardians, families, and community organizations together as equal partners.
