Cumberland County Schools Announces New District Administrators
Fayetteville, NC -- Following the recommendation of Cumberland County Schools (CCS) Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr., the Cumberland County Board of Education approved the following administrative appointments during tonight's monthly Board meeting:
Dr. Mellotta B. Hill has been named the Chief Academic Officer. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in 1993, a Master of School Administration Degree from Fayetteville State University in 2003, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Fayetteville State University in 2014. The veteran educator started her career as a fourth-grade teacher in Pitt County Schools. Afterward, Dr. Hill moved to CCS and taught at Ferguson-Easley Elementary School. Since then, she has worked in numerous capacities throughout the county that include the following: a North Carolina Principal Fellows Intern, an assistant principal, a principal, an executive director and, most recently, the assistant superintendent of CCS' K-12 Instructional Programs.
Jennifer L. Lloyd was approved as the Director of Professional Development. She
earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University in 2001 and a Master of Science Degree in Education (Specialization in Reading and Literacy) from Capella University in 2019. The long-time educator of more than 20 years, began teaching third graders in 2002 at Pocalla Springs Elementary School in Sumter School District 2. After which time, she relocated to CCS where she has worked as a remediation tutor and then, as an instructional coach at J.W. Seabrook Elementary School. Lloyd's work led her to Central Services where she was the Grants Management Coordinator, the K-5 English Language Arts Curriculum Specialist and is currently the Instructional Programs Coordinator.
