Public Schools Week (#PSW23) From Monday, February 27 - Friday, March 3, CCS will be observing Public Schools Week! The district will be highlighting what makes Cumberland County Schools unique as well as celebrating public schools and everyone who works hard to help the students be successful in the classroom and beyond.
CCS Seeking High School Seniors Interested in Becoming Teachers The Future Educators Program is a recruitment initiative aimed at cultivating Cumberland County Schools’ internal student talent. And, the district is currently seeking high school seniors who plan to pursue careers in education and who will commit to teaching with Cumberland County Schools for a minimum of three years upon completion of their teacher preparation programs. Beginning their freshman year in college through their senior year, Future Educators participants will receive summer professional development and a $1,000 stipend, an early employment contract for three years and more! Cumberland Family Academy #TBT – “Motivating the Unmotivated Child” CCS families are being encouraged to join CCS on Thursday, March 2 at 6 p.m. for Cumberland Family Academy’s Throwback Thursday session titled “Motivating the Unmotivated Child.” They will learn about ways parents and educators can work together to help motivate their children toward success. The session will be streamed on the district's Facebook page.

In observance of Black History Month, South View High School junior Lamark Merritt performed "Lift Every Voice and Sing" at the Feb. 14 Cumberland County Board of Education meeting.

Outgoing Chief Academic Officer Acknowledged for Loyal, Dedicated Service At the close of the Feb. 23 Curriculum Committee meeting, Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr., and the members of the Cumberland County Board of Education recognized the loyal and dedicated service of Dr. Stacey Wilson-Norman, who is the district's outgoing Chief Academic Officer. She has been a part of Cumberland County Schools since 2018.

Student Athlete to Represent USA in Triathlon Jack Britt High School student-athlete Jeremy Hall was recently selected to represent the USA in the 2023 Triathlon World Championship.
