 Due to extensive flooding on Burnside Drive and surrounding side streets caused by yesterday’s storm and continued overnight rainfall, the Manteo Library will be closed today (Friday, July 11, 2025). The area is currently unsafe for pedestrian traffic and low-lying vehicles and should be avoided.
The Manteo Library will remain closed until water levels return to a safe level and access to the facility is restored. Once the Manteo Library is able to reopen to the public, that information will be posted on the Dare County Library’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/DareCountyLibrary).
The Dare County Library thanks the community for their patience and understanding during this temporary closure and encourages patrons to check out the variety of digital resources that are available online at DareNC.gov/Library.
