The Dare County Public Works Department has announced that there will be no changes to Dare County’s residential or commercial collection schedule for Independence Day, which will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
All unincorporated areas of Dare County—as well as the Town of Kitty Hawk, for which Dare County Public Works provides trash collection services—will therefore operate on their normal schedule on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
However, all Dare County offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in observance of Independence Day. These closures include the Dare County C&D Landfill, Buxton Transfer Station and Manteo Recycle Yard. All Dare County offices and facilities will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
