The Environmental Health Unit of Dare County Department of Health & Human Services is hosting a ServSafe class and exam. The ServSafe Certification is open to individuals working in the food service industry and verifies that a manager or person-in-charge has sufficient food safety knowledge to protect the public from foodborne illness.
A two day class will cost $180 and includes the cost of the book and exam. It will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2022 and Thursday November 17, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Dare County Administration Building (room 168) located at 954 Marshall C Collins Drive, Manteo. Registration closes November 4, 2022.
Attendees should bring their book and photo ID with them to class. Participants are encouraged to study the ServSafe book before class to familiarize yourself with the topics that will be discussed. The instructors will be covering the main topics; however, students will be required to know the chapter details.
The test/recertification is $75 and includes the exam only. The test will be proctored on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Dare County Administration Building (room 168). There are no review sessions available for the test. Registration closes December 2, 2022.
In order to enroll, the fee (per individual) can be paid at the Dare County Northern Office at 2514 S. Croatan Hwy in Nags Head, at the Frisco Office building on Hwy 12, or by credit card by calling the Environmental Health Unit at 252.475.5080. Spanish, Korean and Chinese books and tests can be ordered; however, they must be requested early and when you pay your fee.
