April 25-26: Kings Drive Art Walk

The festival will be held April 25-26 at the Sugar Creek Greenway. Event hours for Saturday are 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday. April 29: Charlotte Knights Host Education Day at BB&T Ballpark

The Charlotte Knights will be hosting “Education Day” at the BB&T Ballpark when they play the Toledo Mud Hens on Wednesday, April 29 at 11:05 a.m. More than 80 school buses are expected for the game.

Expect heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic starting around 10 a.m. until the game starts and again at the end of the game. Motorists are cautioned to be alert at all times. 

Buses will be parking on the following streets:

  • Graham Street from Mint Street to Trade Street
  • 3rd Street from Mint Street to Church Street
  • 4th Street from Graham Street to Mint Street
  • Mint Street from Stonewall Street to Trade Street
  • Mint Street from Morehead Street to Graham Street
  • Poplar Street from 3rd Street to Trade Street


May 2: Run! Ballantyne 5K/8K

The races begin on Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 a.m. at Ballantyne Corporate Park. Event organizers expect 2,800 participants. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 2 at the Duke Energy Center. Event organizers expect 900 participants. Following the inside tower run, a post celebration will be held on the plaza and Levine Avenue of the Arts. May 2: South End Art and Soul

The festival is on Saturday, May 2 from noon until 6 p.m. Event organizers expect 2,000 attendees. During the event, East Kingston Street will be closed between South Boulevard and the light rail tracks. 


May 2: RomareFest

The event will be held Saturday, May 2 from noon until 9 p.m. Mint Street between Third Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, along the park from Mint Street to Church Street, will close on Saturday, May 2 from 8 a.m. until midnight. One lane of Third Street will close at 8 a.m. and reopen at 10 p.m. Mint Street will close between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on May 1 and May 4 for crane use to set up and tear down the event stage.
