The City of Charlotte Department of Transportation, Charlotte Area Transit System and Start 2 Finish are once again joining forces to host one of Charlotte's most healthy and inspiring events: 2019 BIKE! Charlotte. With more than 50 activities already scheduled, BIKE! Charlotte has something for everyone starting Friday, April 26 through the following Sunday, May 12.
BIKE! Charlotte is 17 days of bicycle-related events and promotions used to encourage families, friends and colleagues to break out the bike and integrate it into their daily routine. Whether used for transportation or recreation, bicycles are efficient, non polluting modes of travel with great health benefits. The event is on Sunday, April 28 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s seventh Open Streets 704 event will be within walking and biking distance of the Plaza Midwood, Belmont, Villa Heights, NoDa, Optimist Park and Commonwealth neighborhoods. Come out and experience the 4 mile route!
Open Streets 704 opens a length of city streets for an afternoon just for people! The Charlotte Jazz Festival returns to Uptown Charlotte featuring Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Broadway songstress Patina Miller with a tribute to Nina Simone, dynamic performances at The Jazz Garden Tent at Romare Bearden Park and free jazz concerts all week long. Charlotte SHOUT! is a celebration of art, music, food and ideas in Uptown Charlotte taking place April 29 - May 11. Kicking off with the Charlotte Jazz Festival, and culminating with a three-day convergence, this celebration will feature exceptionally curated programming from around the corner and around the world. This year, SHOUT! is the grand finale of CLT250, the year-long commemoration of Charlotte's 250th anniversary.

All streets, except Levine Avenue, will reopen during the day on Sunday, May 12. Levine Avenue will reopen on Monday, May 13.
Education Day game at BB&T Ballpark is Wednesday, May 1 at 11:05 a.m. The event will bring an additional 75+ school buses around the BB&T Ballpark on Wednesday morning. Event organizers expect 4,500 attendees. Heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic is expected around the ballpark leading up to the start of the game. Commuters should use caution and allow extra travel time.
The event will be held in First Ward Park on May 3 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 8th Street between College Street and Brevard Street will be closed starting on May 3 at 9:00 a.m. and will reopen on May 4 at 12:00 a.m. Visit Sounds of Summer for more information.
The Kings Drive Art Walk is May 4 – 5 at Pearl Park. The festival is from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 and from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 6.
