The goal of the Prosperity Village CNIP is to improve vehicular, pedestrian and bicyclist safety and connectivity throughout the area. #1 Prosperity Village Pocket Park - The City of Charlotte is celebrating its 250th birthday in a big way, with a goal of implementing 250 placemaking projects across the entire city! These placemaking projects will inspire people to collectively reimagine and reinvent public spaces as the heart of every community. City staff has been working with the Prosperity Village Area Association to develop ideas for the 1.36-acre site north of the intersection of Benfield Road and DeArmon/Johnston Oehler Road to create a pocket park. Join us to learn more 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 at Crossway Community Church (6400 Prosperity Church Road). RSVP at CharlotteFuture.com/Prosperity. Participants will have the opportunity to help select elements for the park that could include art, a plaza stage and tiered-lawn, shade, trees, pollinator garden, decorative signage and more.

#2 Craven Thomas Road/Robert Helms Road Streetscape - This project is currently in the design phase and will include pedestrian lighting, street trees, landscaping, public art, wayfinding signage and seating areas. The Prosperity Village Area Association has created a Prosperity Village logo and is working with City staff to incorporate it into the project design. Once completed, this project will serve as one of the gateways to the Prosperity Village area. The design phase will continue through the end of 2019.

#3 DeArmon Road Complete Street Improvements - This project will include the widening of DeArmon Road to include median with intermittent turning lanes, sidewalks with planting strips, curb, gutter, bicycle facilities and street lighting. This project will also support the future extension of Clark's Creek Greenway. The design phase will continue until the end of 2019.

#4 Prosperity Church Road (Old Ridge Road to Benfield Road) - This project was recently selected due to the postponement of the Ridge Road Extension Project. The project limits are Prosperity Church Road from Old Ridge Road northward to Benfield Road. A community meeting will be held on this project in late spring 2019. Meeting details will be shared once they are determined.

#5 Prosperity Church Road Pedestrian Crossings - This project will include a new traffic signal at Katelyn Drive along with two pedestrian crossing beacons assisting pedestrians in crossing Prosperity Church Road. Construction will start by the end of 2019.
