April 2019
In preparation for our new home on the first floor, the Land Development offices will be moving to the 8th floor effective Monday, May 6th. Signage will be in place directing our customers to our new “temporary” location on the 8th floor as the first floor is being prepared for the opening of our new multi agency Land Development location.
The new Transit Oriented Development Districts are anticipated to be adopted on April 15, 2019 by the Charlotte City Council. This exciting new ordinance will replace the current TOD-M, TOD-R, and TOD-O Zoning Districts. Staff has worked extensively engaging the Ordinance Advisory Committee, as well as the greater community for the past 18 months to draft the ordinance.
Following approval, any existing TOD zoned projects (without a conditional/optional plan) seeking land development approval subject to the existing standards must submit complete plans, fee and applications on or before June 30th, 2019 to the City of Charlotte. All new petitions will use the new districts effective immediately. For details regarding the new districts, including the translation text, please see the following: https://charlottenc.gov/planning/Rezoning/RezoningPetitions/2018Petitions/Pages/2018-169.aspx.
