Upcoming Charlotte Land Development Standards Manual Update – January 31st, 2019

The Charlotte Land Development Standards Manual (CLDSM) Committee has determined that updates are required to various City land development standard details.  Starting December 14th and running throughout the month of January, a PDF file of the draft revised details will be available for download from the CLDSM webpage at http://charlottenc.gov/cldsm for public review and comment.  This update includes revisions to the stormwater control measure details and minor revisions to the accessible parking signage details.  New details are included for sidewalk transitions, multi-use paths, super silt fence, and turbidity curtains.

Prior to the proposed effective date of January 31st, 2019, provide any feedback or comments on the proposed changes via e-mail to Brendan Smith, E&PM Land Development Division at bmsmith@charlottenc.gov.  Also - if you haven’t already, be sure to click the “Notify Me” icon at the top of the page http://charlottenc.gov/cldsm to add your e-mail address to the notification list for to stay up to date on future announcements and revisions of the standards manual.

Expedited Plat Reviews

Beginning in January 2019, the City of Charlotte will provide a new expedited option for final record plat reviews.  The expedited plat review time will be 10 days for the first submittal, and 5 days for re-submittals.  An additional $1,000 fee will be added to the base plat review fee to utilize the expedited service.  Applicants can select this option where they normally select their project type within Accela.  Depending on the number of expedited plat submittals and availability of staff resources to process and review these plats, the total number of expedited plats may be limited.  Staff asks our customers for patience as we implement new processes and options for their projects.
