October 22-29: 5th/6th Street Protected Bike Lane Demonstration Project

5th 6th Street Protected Bike Lane Demo Image

Join us at Biketoberfest on Sunday, 10/22 when we launch the demonstration of the City of Charlotte’s Uptown projected bike lane. The demo occupies an entire lane of 6th Street from McDowell Street to Ray’s Splash Planet and Irwin Creek Greenway. The route is on-way (westbound) except for a special segment from the Rail Trail to Pine Street which is two-way and has B-cycle stations at both ends.

On the weekend days, there will be an additional protected lane on 7th Street that connects to Little Sugar Creek Greenway. It’s a great way to test out the route recommended in the Uptown Connects study.

Visit Charlotte Center City Partners Bicycling for more information.
