 Rocktoberfest Half Marathon and Five Mile Run
The event begins on Saturday, October 15 at 11 a.m. at Latta Park. This is a tree-themed community engagement and education
event. Information/activity booths on the lawn offer family-friendly activities
related to trees, including "Ask the Arborist", a book signing and a
seedling giveaway. Asplundh's "Volts Wagon", a self-contained
power-line safety demonstration facility, will be parked on East Park Avenue.
East Park Avenue between Winthrop Avenue and Springdale Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

WordFest will educate, entertain and inspire writers and readers today and future
generations. All events will take place inside at ImaginOn, Levine Museum,
Spirit Square and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Main Library. Food trucks will be on 8th
Street bordering First Ward Park and storytellers in First Ward Park.
