Tips for Uploading Electronic Plans to Accela

We have been experiencing difficulties with corrupted and/or unopenable PDF files on various Land Development plan submittals by customers in Accela.  In order to reduce these occurrences, please follow the helpful recommendations for electronic plan preparation found on our Electronic Plan Review page.

Gartner Update

The City and Mecklenburg County partnered together to contract with Gartner Consulting to review development planning, permitting and inspection services.  One of the recommendations made by Gartner was to “eliminate the County’s OnSchedule plan review process, which is an appointment-based plan review scheduling system, and have both the City and the County operate on a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) plan review process that is associated with realistic, predictable performance metrics to reduce inconsistencies and improve the plan review process.”  Mecklenburg County and the City have had discussions with the development community in regards to this initiative.  To review Gartner’s recommendation, please click on this link
