The annual Thunder Road Marathon is scheduled for Saturday,
November 14. This popular annual event involves numerous street and lane
closures along the marathon route. The marathon will begin on Graham Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 3rd Street at 7:30 a.m. It follows a course through
the Dilworth, Myers Park, South End, Belmont, NoDa, Plaza-Midwood, Elizabeth and Second and Third Ward neighborhoods. The
race will finish on Mint Street (between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and
Third Street). Traffic delays should be expected along the marathon route.
The following streets will be closed for the marathon:
- Mint Street from Martin Luther
King Jr. Boulevard to 4th Street: Friday, November 13 at 4 p.m.
until Saturday, November 14 at 4 p.m. (One lane will remain open on Martin
Luther King Jr. Boulevard until early Saturday morning.)
- 3rd St from Mint Street to Poplar Street:
Friday, November 13 at 4 p.m. until Saturday, November 14 at 4 p.m.
(One lane will remain open on Third Street until 6 p.m. on Friday for
evening traffic.)
- 4th Street from Graham to Poplar Street: Saturday,
November 14 at 5 a.m. until 10 a.m.
- Poplar Street from 4th Street to Mint
Street: Saturday, November 14 at 5 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The lighting
of the tree will take place on Tuesday, November 24, from 5:30
p.m. to 7:40 p.m. on the corner of Mint Street and Graham Street,
adjacent to the stadium. Event organizers expect
3,000 attendees. Graham Street from Martin Luther King Jr.
Boulevard to Mint Street and Mint Street from 1st Street to Morehead
Street will close at 9:30 a.m. and reopen at 11 p.m.
The event begins on Wednesday, November 25 at 6 p.m. on
Tryon Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Morehead Street. Event organizers expect 700 attendees. While parade set
up is in progress, volunteers, sponsors and the public will be invited to see a
preview of new floats. This is the first time Charlotte Center City Partners
has hosted a "preview party" for the parade.

The one mile
run begins at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, on Morrison
Boulevard. The 8K and 5K will follow. Event organizers expect 9,000 runners. The
8K route includes Morrison Boulevard, Carnegie Boulevard, Barclay Downs Drive,
Runnymede Lane, Colony Road, Wheelock Road, Richardson Drive, Ferncliff Road,
Sharon Road and Roxborough Road. The 5K route includes Morrison Boulevard,
Carnegie Boulevard, Barclay Downs Drive, Runnymede Lane, Colony Road,

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday,
November 26 at the Village at Robinson Farms located on Williams Pond Road
between Elm Lane and Rea Road. Event organizers expect 1,800 participants. The
route starts and finishes at Village at Robinson Farm. The 4-mile run uses Rea
Road, Ardrey Kell Road, Blakeney Heath Road and Parks Farm Lane. The 1-mile run
uses Rea Road, Williams Pond Lane, Elm Lane, Blakeney Heath Road and Windsor

The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day November
26, at Stonewall Street and South Tryon Street. The parade

The race begins on Saturday, December 5 at 8 a.m. at the Wells
Fargo Plaza/Atrium. Event organizers expect 600 participants. The route
includes South Tryon Street, West Boulevard, South Mint Street, West Kingston
Street, Wickford Place, Westwood Avenue, Southwood Avenue, West Summit Avenue,

 ACC Fan 5K and Kids Mascot Run
ACC FanFest will be held Saturday, December 5, from 12 noon
to 7 p.m. outside of Bank of America Stadium on Mint Street between Morehead
Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; Graham Street between Martin
Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Mint Street; and Stonewall Street between Mint Street
and Church Street.
Event setup will begin Friday, December 4, at 9 a.m. and
will end Saturday, December 5, at 12 midnight. FanFest hours will be Saturday,
Dec. 5 from 12 noon to 7 p.m. Event breakdown will be Saturday, December 5, from
8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. All streets will re-open on Saturday night by 11:30 p.m. Event
organizers expect 25,000 attendees. FanFest is a free family-friendly event open
to the public featuring live music, interactive games, mascot appearances,
giveaways and sampling, autograph opportunities with ACC Legends, and more.

The parade gathers in the parking lot of Lake Wylie
Elementary School on Saturday, December 12 at 9:30 a.m. and begins at 10 a.m. The
parade route uses Erwin Road and Moss Road to South Tryon Street, ending at Good
