Airways Hangar Ramp, head east to 36R and then southbound to Gate 44 at Hangar
Road and Yorkmont. The course will circle the old Airport terminal and return

The annual Thunder Road Marathon is scheduled for Saturday,
November 14. This popular annual event involves numerous street and lane
closures along the marathon route. The marathon will begin on 4th Street
between Graham Street and Mint Street at 7:30 a.m. It follows a course through
the Dilworth, Myers Park, South End, Third Ward, Belmont, NoDa, Plaza-Midwood
Commonwealth, Chantilly, Elizabeth, Second and Third Ward neighborhoods. The
race will finish on Mint Street (between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and
Third Street). Traffic delays should be expected along the marathon route.
The following streets will be closed for the marathon:
- Mint Street from Martin Luther
King Jr. Boulevard to 4th Street: Friday, November 13 at 4 p.m.
until Saturday, November 14 at 4 p.m. (One lane will remain open on Martin
Luther King Jr. Boulevard until early Saturday morning.)
- 3rd Street from Mint Street to Poplar Street:
Friday, November 13 at 4 p.m. until Saturday, November 14 at 4 p.m.
(One lane will remain open on Third Street until 6 p.m. on Friday for
evening traffic.)
- 4th Street from Graham Street to Poplar Street: Saturday,
November 14 at 5 a.m. until 10 a.m.
- Poplar Street from 4th Street to Mint
Street: Saturday, November 14 at 5 a.m. until 4 p.m.
- Mint Street at the Martin Luther
King Jr. Boulevard intersection: Saturday,
November 14 at 5 a.m. until 4 p.m.
