June 12: Charlotte Symphony Night in the Park

The event will be held on Friday, June 12 at 5 p.m. at Romare Bearden Park. Event organizers expect 1,000 attendees. Contact Charlotte City Partners at 704-332-9587 for more information.

Street/lane closures are as follows:

  • Wednesday, June 10 at 9 a.m.: One lane of Mint Street along Romare Bearden Park from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Third Street for load in
  • Thursday, June 11 at 9 a.m.: All lanes of Mint Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Third Street for load in. All lanes, except for the one along Romare Bearden Park, will re-open at 1 p.m.
  • Friday, June 12 at 3 p.m.: One lane of Third Street along Romare Bearden Park from Mint Street to Church Street
  • Saturday, June 13 at 12 midnight: Third Street reopens

June 13: Tri Latta Triathlon

The event begins on Saturday, June 13 at 6 a.m. at the Latta Plantation. Event organizers expect 600 participants. The route includes Sample Road, Mcllwaine Road, McCoy Road, Julian Clark Road, Reese Boulevard and Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road. Visit Tri Latta Sprint 2015 for more information.

June 13: MCB Cares 5K

The event begins Saturday, June 13 at 8 a.m.  at the Mecklenburg County Bar and Foundation Center. Event organizers expect 250 participants. The routes uses Zebulon Avenue, Judson Avenue, West Trade Street, Walford Drive, Whitehaven Avenue, South Bruns Avenue, Sumter Avenue, Tuckaseegee Road, Gesco Street, State Street, South Turner Avenue, and Rozzelles Ferry Road. June 13: Bearden Music Series - Latino

The event will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Romare Bearden Park. Organizers expect 1,000 attendees. One lane of Third Street and one lane of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be closed adjacent to Romare Bearden Park from 8 a.m. until midnight. June 20: Healthy Achievement 5K Run/Walk

The race begins on Saturday, June 20 at 7 a.m. at Romare Bearden Park. Event organizers expect 750 participants. The route uses Church Street, Stonewall Street, Fourth Street, Cedar Street, Morehead Street, Mint Street, Bland Street, South Tryon Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. June 20: King Tiger 5K

The run begins at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday June 20 at the Arbor Ways Shopping Center off of Mallard Creek Church Road. Event organizers expect 700 attendees. The route includes Mallard Creek Church Road, Mallard Creek Road, Galloway Drive, Foutaingrove Drive, Chipstone Road, Copperplate Road and Claude Freeman Drive. June 27: National PTA Convention Block Party

The event is on Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. on Brevard Street. Event organizers expect 1,000 attendees. Brevard Street between Stonewall Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard will be closed from 4 p.m. to 12 midnight. Access will be maintained to the Hall of Fame parking deck. July 3: Charlotte Firecracker 5K

The event will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 3 at Olde Providence Elementary. Event organizers expect 600 participants. July 4: American 4 Miler Presented by Famous Toastry

The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 at Toast Café Charlotte in Dilworth. Event organizers expect 750 participants. Visit American 4-Miler for more information.


July 4: Hickory Grove 4th of July Parade

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 at Hickory Grove School. Event organizers expect 300 participants. The parade will begin on Pence Road and turn right onto East WT Harris Boulevard ending at Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church. Contact the Hickory Grove Parade Association at 704-578-2795.

July 4: Multiple Community Parades

On a smaller scale, several neighborhoods will have a parade during the morning on July 4.

Beverly Woods East Fourth of July Parade: 
The event will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 at Stocktie Road. Call Beverly Woods East Civic Association at 919-357-6483 for more information.

Coulwood Hills Community July 4th Parade:
The event will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 at Coulwood Middle School. Event organizers expect 500 participants. The parade route is from Coulwood Middle School to Paw Creek Elementary School. Contact the Coulwood Hill Community Council at kretschmerg@hotmail.com for more information.

Old Stone Crossing Annual 4th of July Parade: 
The event begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 on Sidney Crest Avenue. Event organizers expect 150 attendees. July 4: SkyShow Charlotte 2015

The event will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 4 Uptown on Mint Street near the BB&T Ballpark. Event organizers expect 7,000 attendees. Mint Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Fourth Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Mint Street and Church Street will be closed.
