December 24 - 26 are Town holidays. Most Town offices will be closed. Please plan for the following service and facility changes:  

Trash Collection   

• Residential trash will not be affected. 

• Crews will not collect commercial trash on Thursday, December 25, or Friday, December 26. They'll complete collections earlier in the week. 

• Crews will not collect yard trimmings on Thursday, December 25, or Friday, December 26. Collections will resume the following week. 

Orange County Recycling Collection 

• Orange County will not collect curbside recycling on Thursday, December 25. They’ll collect Thursday recycling on Friday, December 26, and Friday recycling on Saturday, December 27. 

• The Orange County Waste and Recycling Centers, Landfill, Solid Waste Administrative Office, and all related services will be closed on Thursday, December 25. The Waste and Recycling Centers and Landfill will be open on Friday, December 26.

Chapel Hill Public Library will be closed Wednesday, December 24, through Sunday, December 28.

Chapel Hill Transit will not operate any routes on Thursday, December 25. On Wednesday, December 24, and Friday, December 26, it will operate Sunday Service, including EZ-Rider. Check their full winter break schedule. 

Parks and Recreation   

• Facilities closed December 24 - 26: Parks and Recreation administrative offices, Community Center and Indoor Pool, Hargraves Community Center and Nate Davis, Sr. Gymnasium, Homestead Aquatic Center, and the Corner Teen Center. 

Public Housing's administrative office on Caldwell St. will be closed all three days.
