Police Increase Patrols Following Unwanted Touching, Suspicious Person Reports |

The Chapel Hill Police Department is increasing patrols on and near trails in the area of Umstead Drive and Pritchard Avenue Extension following a report of an unknown man touching a woman. Investigators are looking into similarities among that report and two other recent reports of suspicious activity nearby.
- Around 12pm on Thursday, October 23, a woman who was running on Tanyard Branch Trail reported being concerned about a man pacing on the trail. The man was wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants.

Around 3:40pm on Friday, November 7, a woman who was running on the Bolin Creek Trail reported a man touched her while she was near Pritchard Avenue Extension. The man, seen in the photo above, was wearing a black hooded jacket and gray sweatpants.
- Around 6:20pm on Wednesday, November 12, two women who were walking on Umstead Drive reported a man following them between Umstead Park and Village Drive. The man was wearing a dark zip-up jacket and dark pants.
