Current Closures

Eastgate Crossing is now closed to thru traffic. Employees and construction crews can still access the shopping center as their recovery efforts continue.

The Bolin Creek Trail is closed between Umstead Drive and Bolinwood Drive. In some spots, the paved path is damaged and/or covered in mud. Town crews are working to assess necessary repairs and next steps.

Several Parks and Recreation facilities are temporarily closed due to storm damage:
- Umstead Volleyball Courts
- Community Center Inclusive Playground
- Strowd Rose Garden

Town Recovery & Response
- Since Sunday evening, Town teams from Emergency Management, Public Works, Police, Fire, Building and Development Services, and many other Town departments have been working around the clock on immediate storm response.
- In the coming days and weeks, the Town will focus on short and long-term recovery work, from our Inspections teams conducting damage assessments to our Economic Development staff connecting businesses to resources.
How to Help
We know many of you would like to help affected community members as well as businesses in the Eastgate and University Place shopping centers.
- We recommend monetary donations to the local Red Cross. Please be mindful of scammers who take advantage of good deeds in times of need.
- To support affected businesses, please visit their websites and/or social media to learn about any fundraising efforts or online services during this time.
