Hello, neighbors! This week, you can share your feedback about future uses of 828 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., wear your costume to Magical Hill Arts and Adventure Fest, and help us develop our Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan. Provide Your Feedback about Future Uses of 828 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.

On April 21, we held an open house to talk about the presence of coal ash at the 828 police station property. We also shared information about possible future uses allowed under our Brownfields Agreement with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality. Because community input is one of many factors the Town Council will consider in its decision-making process, we invite you to review the materials shared at the open house and provide your feedback through this brief survey.

Health on the Block Health Fair is Back

Come to the Nate Davis, Sr. Gymnasium on April 26 from 1 to 5 p.m. for a free dental screening, blood pressure check, and more. Health on the Block is an annual event co-sponsored by NC Health Careers Access Program Ambassadors, which offers free health screenings to the community. We'll also have food, games, and prizes.

Magical Hill Arts and Adventure Fest

We invite you to the 5th annual Magical Hill Festival and Fairy House contest at Community Center Park on April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy a day outdoors with activities designed for kids of all ages. Use your imagination, creativity, and sense of adventure while celebrating nature and the start of spring. Wear your costumes, and we'll see you there!

New Art on Bolin Creek Greenway

Swing by the Bolin Creek Greenway trailhead at the Community Center on April 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. for a free mural walk and artist talk. Travel at your own pace on this self-led tour and meet the artists who created the murals.

Join us for a Movie Under the Stars

May the 4th be with you! Grab your lightsabers and join us for a free screening of Star Wars: A New Hope on May 4 at 7:30 p.m. on the Carolina Square lawn. We'll have movie-themed activities prior to the screening. Costumes encouraged!

Survey: W. Cameron Ave. Bike Lane Project

We've got federal funding to design and construct protected bike lanes on W.Cameron Ave. from Merritt Mill Rd. to N. Columbia St. We want to hear from you by Monday, April 28. Take the survey and come to one of our many outreach opportunities to help us choose the design and learn more about the project.
