Update: Police Seek Assistance Locating Stolen Vehicle |

Update (4/5/2025 10:30am): The stolen vehicle is a gray 2017 Mercedes CLA 250 (pictured) with the North Carolina tag HEV-1901. Anyone who sees this vehicle should call 911. Do not approach the vehicle or its driver. Work to identify a suspect is ongoing.
Previously released (4/5/2025 3:22am): At around 12:43am, the Chapel Hill Police Department responded to a report of a carjacking in the 100 block of W. Franklin Street. An initial investigation determined a man stole a vehicle at gunpoint. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. Investigators are working to identify the suspect.
