Homestead Aquatic Re-Opens March 31
Thanks for your patience, swimmers! Grab your suit and your goggles, brush off the pollen and enjoy your spring break in the newly-updated Homestead Aquatic Center. It's set to re-open on March 31 at 5:30 a.m. The facility has a new HVAC system, shower spaces, and pool deck. We're excited to welcome you back.

GIS Team Wins G. Herbert Stout Award
Congratulations to our GIS and Analytics Division on winning the G. Herbert Stout Award. This award recognizes the innovative use of geographic information systems by local governments in North Carolina. Senior GIS Analyst Dave Almond and the GIS team won the award for enhancing our Residential On-Street Parking Temporary Permit process. They turned a cumbersome, paper-based process into an automated and efficient process that can now serve as a template for other workflows in the organization. Congrats, team!

Crisis Unit Supervisor Receives Department's Herman Stone Award
Earlier this week, Chapel Hill Police Crisis Unit Supervisor Sarah Belcher received the Department’s Herman Stone Award. This award is named in honor of former Chief Stone and recognizes a deep commitment to community service and respect. One of Sarah’s teammates said, “Sarah’s ability to remain calm under pressure and provide solutions has affected countless lives and made a lasting impact on our community.” Congratulations, Sarah!

Big Book Sale is Back April 11-13
The Friends of Chapel Hill Public Library invite bargain hunters and book lovers to their upcoming Big Book Sale— April 11 through April 13 at the Library. Shoppers will find a large inventory of gift-ready gently used fiction and non-fiction books for children and adults, as well as puzzles. Prices start at only 1 dollar.

School System Superintendent Search
The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School (CHCCS) system is beginning their search for their next superintendent. The Board of Education wants to hear from you.
