Next Steps for 1714 Legion Road
Plans to build affordable housing, a wetland, and a park on the Town's property at 1714 Legion Road are moving forward in the coming months - starting with removing the pond and hazardous dam. Learn more about the project at our Engage Chapel Hill page dedicated to it.

Lights Out for Bird Migration
Spring migration starts mid-March and lasts through the end of May. Here are some easy ways you can help the birds make safe passage:
- Minimize outdoor lighting from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Turn off lights in your home and office when not in use
- Close blinds and drapes at night

Drop In for a Divergent Needs Resource Fair
Join us March 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the Nate Davis, Sr. Gymnasium for a Divergent Needs Fair and Fun Day. Our Adapted Recreation and Inclusion Division will help connect families and caregivers of children and adults with special needs to the Family Support Network of NC.

Orange County residents, small businesses, and local government employees can stop by Eubanks Park and Ride Lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 12 to shred confidential documents for free. Some limitations apply.

Review Draft Plans for Safe Routes and Vision Zero
Talk to our Safe Routes to School (SRTS) staff on March 25 about the draft SRTS Action Plan, which identifies programs, policies, and infrastructure recommendations that promote safe walking, biking, and rolling to school. You can also check out the draft Vision Zero action plan and give your feedback on what we might do with the parking lot at Columbia and Rosemary streets.
