The National Center for Rural Road Safety and NLTAPA Safety Work Group are co-hosting a FREE, 2-hour online webinar entitled Crash Responder Safety.
This webinar will be held Monday, November 17, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Mountain/1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Eastern.
In honor of Crash Responder Safety Week, in this webinar, you will learn techniques to keep responders safe in your community. You will hear from:
- The Emergency Responder Safety Institute (ERSI) on why emergency responder safety is important, ERSI background and free educational and operational resources available, and an overview of the responder struck by database.
- AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety on the release of their recent Slow Down Move Over Report which includes a review of state laws, interviews with stakeholders, focus groups with drivers in 10 states, analysis of video from traffic cameras, and recommendations for improving compliance.
- Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission on the digital alert system technology they are deploying to assist in responder safety. The program has overseen the installation of over 650 Haas Alert devices across 130+ agencies throughout the Philadelphia area. Since the program start in October 2024, over 2.1 million alerts have been sent to drivers.
- Florida Department of Transportation, Florida’s Turnpike, on their systemwide Incident Management initiatives and efforts related to the Disabled and Abandoned Vehicle research project.
