Deadlines for Traffic Education Program Approvals & Traffic Education Renewals
The requirements for state-approved traffic education programs clearly state school districts must submit an annual TE01 District Application ONE WEEK PRIOR to starting their traffic education program in the new school year. For programs starting in the fall, the deadline is August 1,2023. All other programs should submit their TE01 as soon as they have program dates and Traffic Education teacher(s) set for the school year. We can make adjustments if dates or teachers change.
All traffic education instructors must renew their approval to teach traffic education the same year their educator license comes up for renewal. Teachers who are still working toward their endorsement must earn at least four traffic education college credits during that five-year renewal period. Only renewing your educator license by June 30th isn't renewing your TE approval. You must submit a TE05 no later than September 30th of your renewal year, so we can update your contact information, check your driving record, and send you an official approval email. Here is a link to the application: TE05
