As we start getting closer to State FFA Convention, the Montana FFA Foundation wanted to provide some ways for chapters to stay connected throughout the spring. As Gwynn mentioned at the MAAE meeting earlier this winter, we will be having four statewide events throughout this spring as a Countdown to Convention. For all these events, your chapter can join the Zoom call as a group and use it as a chapter bonding activity, or you can ask students to join individually if your chapter is unable to meet in person!
These events are as follows:
March 22 at 7 PM: Trivia Night
We will be utilizing Kahoot and Zoom to play a statewide game of FFA, Agriculture, and Montana Trivia! Students will compete individually, and the winner will receive a prize.
March 30 at 7 PM: Greenhand Night
Montana FFA State Officers will facilitate a brief goal-setting workshop, and then chapter leaders across Montana will conduct the Greenhand Ceremony. Speaking of which, we need students to lead the Greenhand Ceremony! Nominate a deserving student leader here for this honor: https://forms.gle/dcAPaLiDnw7whRDo9
We will have a short activity led by the State FFA Officers after the ceremony.
March 29-April 3: Statewide Days of Service
If you completed the Day of Service and Buddy Chapter Questionnaire Saralyn sent out, you will receive some tools to do the Statewide Days of Service. If you didn't, you are still encouraged to plan a local service activity that week! We won't meet up via Zoom for this activity, but some state officers may check-in with your chapter on your service projects!
April 6 at 7 PM: Statewide Dance
We're going to try something crazy: Virtual Dance. This will be in the form of a dance workshop, including learning different line dances and learning different jitterbug moves!
All of these activities will take about an hour minus the one that will take a week.
Reach out to me if you have any questions!
