PASMET Winners Announced!

Mary McMahon

Congratulations to the 2019 Presidential Award for Excellence in 7-12 Mathematics: Mary Anne McMahon of Helena High School.

"The Presidential Award means that my career has positively impacted others! Every day I go to work to make a difference in the lives of teens. I absolutely love helping kids learn mathematics, gain confidence, dream of their futures, and strive to reach their full potential. I love learning from, collaborating with, and growing friendships with fellow educators. I am forever grateful to my family, students, and colleagues who've helped me along this journey to become a Presidential Awardee!"- Mary Anne McMahon

YouCubed- Week 1 of Math Class

youcubed week of inspirational math

Jo Boaler of YouCubed has released her annual free Week of Inspirational Maths resources for K-12. You can download specific videos, mindset resources and tasks or can make a week-long play list of your favorite activities. The resources can be used in face-to-face or remote learning settings.

YouCubed is offering Virtual Professional Development this school year. The PD will navigate the most important mathematical content for each grade, and you will learn ways to teach it effectively, whether in person or online.

Lastly, YouCubed's K-12 data science initiative has been a hit. They offer a range of free materials to help students of any age, become data literate. There are free lessons and a new online course that can be taken free or for a certificate.

A Quick Note

Incredible Educators,

With many of you headed back to school this week or are already there, I want to wish you an excellent school year amidst all of the uncertainty this school year brings. Know I am available to talk shop, bounce ideas off of and support in whatever ways you and your district need. Sending positive first few week vibes to whatever setting you are teaching in. Know that great teaching is great teaching!
