Each individual who has been designated as a homeless liaison must complete a minimum of three (3) hours of professional development regarding the needs of students experiencing homelessness annually, as required in the Montana ESSA plan. Homeless liaisons in districts with a McKinney-Vento subgrant are required to obtain seven (7) hours of professional development annually. The OPI’s Education of Homeless Children and Youth Program recognizes that it can be difficult to obtain meaningful and relevant professional development when travel and in-person trainings are not being offered. To meet these training needs the OPI will be hosting the following webinars in the upcoming months. Webinars will be a minimum of one hour; but may run longer if there are questions or additional discussion at the end. OPI Renewal Units are available for all attendees.
