Upcoming Math Competitions

MCTM Montana Council of Teachers of Mathematics Logo

MCTM Math Content- Be sure to register students grades 7-12 for the annual MCTM math contest happening at locations across the state! Learn more about the upcoming contest, and find out which of the twelve locations is nearest to you. Registration deadlines are coming up!

MSU Science Math Resource Center Competition- MSU is hosting a free mathematics competition for high schoolers Jan. 30 & Feb. 5, 2020. Learn more on their site.

MathCON- The annual, national, online competition begins on January 22 and runs through March 1, 2020.  Top winners will be invited to attend MathCON Finals on May 9, 2020. Register your class today.

 


PAEMST Nominations due March 1st

It is that time of year to nominate science, technology, engineering, mathematics and/or computer science teachers working in grades K-6 for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Nominations are due March 1st!


Computer Science Upcoming Opportunities

Computer code

Summer Professional Development for Computer Science for high school and middle school teachers is open for registration. A limited number of stipends and travel support are available. Courses in the Joy and Beauty of Computing, Mobil CSP, Python for Math & Science, and Game Programing are available. Earn up to 40 renewal credits per class.

Girls Go CyberStart (GGCS) is a fun, free, extracurricular online program designed to help girls across the nation discover an interest in cybersecurity. They are looking for high school teachers to join as advisors to run GGCS Clubs in their schools. The program is free and will give teachers hours of resources to use in and outside of their classrooms. Teachers can register to run a GGCS club between Dec. 2, 2019, and Jan. 31, 2020. For more info, check out their website.
