Cartewheel Menu Planner

Cartewheel Menu Planner

We are excited to announce that the Montana Office of Public Instruction and Colyar Technology Solutions have partnered together to offer you Cartewheel Menu Planner!

Every student deserves a nutritious school lunch they'll actually enjoy eating. And every menu planner deserves greater choice when developing menus.

Cartewheel simplifies the process of creating healthy, delicious menus, and communicating them to your site staff. We believe school lunches should not merely comply - they should shape the foundation for a healthy lifestyle in the cafeteria and beyond.

The new “And Justice for All” poster is now available through our office and your School Nutrition Programs Specialist who is reviewing your school.

Sponsors of the National School Lunch Program are required to prominently display the USDA non-discrimination poster “And Justice for All”. The poster must be placed in a location that enable program participants to read the text of the poster without obstruction.

The “And Justice for All” poster will be distributed by our Specialists when they are reviewing your School Nutrition Programs or can be ordered online through our new SNP Required Posters Order Form, along with required Lunch and Breakfast signage.

The order form can be found on our School Nutrition Programs webpage School Nutrition Programs in Policies & Guidance School Meal Program Policies & Guidance.

Child Nutrition Program Operations Study II, School Year 2015-2016

The Child Nutrition Program Operations Study II (CN-OPS II) is a multiyear study that provides the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) with information on current State Agency (SA) and school food authority (SFA) policies, practices, and needs related to school nutrition service operations, financial management, meal counting, training and professional standards, food service equipment, and technology. Results are used to inform Child Nutrition program management and policy development. Data was collected between May and October 2016 from all State Child Nutrition (CN) directors and a nationally representative stratified sample of SFA directors through on-line surveys. Most information refers to school year 2015-2016.
