SkillsUSA Students Receive Unique Opportunity

Winnett SkillsUSA Group

The SkillsUSA students and the seniors are working on machining aluminum cylinder heads, these heads fit 1937 to 1954 Chrysler and DeSoto 25” engines.  The students are also machining  Dodge or Plymouth 23" cylinder engine heads that  fit 1933 to 1959 Dodge and Plymouth engines.  The students are getting a unique opportunity to work on a high-end production head used in old hot rods and reproductions.  The ability to bring new CNC technology and skills to revive an old engine is both challenging and rewarding experience.  This project has allowed both the students and the instructor a chance to learn new ways of machining parts and hone and practice good machining techniques.
