Big Sky Film Grant Deadline Extended

The application cycle for the 2024 Big Sky Film Grant cycle has been extended. The deadline for submitting an online application is now midnight (MDT) on April 10, 2024.

Up to $1.8 million in grant awards are available to filmmakers applying in one of four categories:

  • Feature Film and TV Grant: Award amounts are not limited, but are subject to annual program funding limitations.
  • Short Form Content Grant: Award amounts are a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of up to $50,000 per project. 
  • Resident Feature Film and TV Grant: Award amounts are a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of up to $100,000 per project. Proof of Montana residency is required.
  • New: Resident Short Form Content Grant: Award amounts are a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of up to $50,000 per project. Proof of Montana residency is required.

Program guidelines, application information and instructions for preparing to submit an application are all available on the Montana Film Office website.

Applicants are encouraged to gather/organize information and required materials, in addition to beginning the online application well in advance of the deadline.
