2020 CENSUS SELF RESPONSE MAP, NOW LIVE

Want to know how many people across Montana and in your town are responding to the Census? Click HERE to view the live 2020 response rate map.

Use the map above to track your communities progress and encourage family, friends, and everyone in-between to fill out their 2020 Census questionnaire online, by phone, or by mail.

Highlights of the map include:

  • Daily updates to self-response rates for households that have self-responded to the 2020 Census online, by phone or by mail beginning mid-March.
  • The ability to search for response rates for states, counties, cities and census tracts.
  • Current 2020 total self-response rates and internet response rates in comparison to final 2010 Census response rates and previous day-by-day 2020 response rates.
  • An embeddable widget that will allow Response Rate Challenge participants to include the map on their own websites.
  • 2020 Census response rate data available in the public application programming interface (API).
  • Background information and instructions for how to use the map and the data presented.

The response rate is impacted by the delivery method of the Census information used in an area, for example if you receive an invitation in the mail versus a packet dropped at the door. Click HERE to learn about the difference.

You don’t need to have your Census 12-digit ID to respond. Simply use the  link below the login button as highlighted below:

2020 census part 1

Without a Census ID code, you need to answer one additional question about your residency:

no census id part 2

2020 census no id part 3

No Census ID? No Problem.

As we are all experiencing the diverse impacts that COVID-19 is having across Montana, it is more important than ever to self-respond to the Census so that Montana receives its fair share of federal funding for healthcare, education, infrastructure, and more!

With the U.S. Census Bureau suspending all field operations until April 1,and potentially later, it means that rural households across Montana, especially those that are in rural locations or have a P.O. box, will not receive any Census material until the Census Bureau restarts their door-to-door operations. This does not mean that you should wait to fill out your form, because even if you have not received your invitation to participate and do not have your 12-digit Census Id you can still fill out your form now!
