Our hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except for Wednesday when our business hours begin at 11 a.m. To save you time and travel, we offer services by phone and email. Fall SafetyFest MT will be held Virtually November 15-19^th, 2021

SafetyFestMT is a collaborative effort between the Montana Department of Labor & Industry businesses/entities across the state who donate their time to present various topics. This collaboration allows SafetyFestMT to provide FREE quality training to employers and their workers throughout Montana. Just as the needs of each community in Montana are diverse and unique so is each SafetyFest. Each event provides classes that focus on the specific needs of the region along with a core curriculum of classes including but not limited to:

Reporting Unemployment Insurance Fraud UI Fraud is a crime which affects everyone. It drives up the cost of UI taxes for businesses and causes frustration for law-abiding employers and workers. The Montana Department of Labor & Industry takes UI Fraud very seriously; all reports of potential, alleged, or suspected fraud are thoroughly reviewed and investigated accordingly. Those found to have committed UI fraud are subject to penalties and/or criminal prosecution. If you suspect a person (Claimant) or a business (Employer) is committing UI fraud, you may report it online or contact our fraud investigator by phone at (406) 444-0072 or toll free at (888) 556-4677; by fax at (406) 444-6651 or by filling out our email form at https://uid.dli.mt.gov/report-fraud/  . No matter how you report information or your suspicions, YOU MAY REMAIN ANONYMOUS if you wish. We thank you for your efforts to help combat UI fraud and abuse in Montana; you are a VERY important source of information about claimants and employers committing UI fraud. Please understand due to confidentiality restrictions, we will not be able to advise you on any outcome of any investigation we conduct.

Child Care Deserts Access to child care is essential to a healthy economy, allowing parents of young children to engage in the labor force and preparing the state’s future workforce through high-quality early childhood education. In Montana, an estimated 32,000 working parents with children under six-years-old rely on some form of child care arrangement to remain in the labor force, which translates to approximately 6% of the state’s labor force in 2019. Despite the state’s reliance on child care to meet workforce needs, Montana parents and businesses have suffered from a lack of access to care. Read the white paper here.
