On Monday they’ll be finishing the installation of services on the last two properties left at the north end of the block between W Story and W Dickerson.
- Northwestern Energy will be digging in Gas Main through the alleyway directly to the south (between Alderson and Dickerson), and they hope to have the alleyway open at the end of business today (Friday), so people have access to back of property parking. To that end they will be around the midway point of the alley, and we have repaired the asphalt on Alderson, though it is likely it will remain closed for thru traffic over the weekend, just so they can be sure that the asphalt has had sufficient time to cure.

MDT Work in our Area:
I-90 – Bear Canyon to Jackson Creek: The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is rehabilitating approximately 6 miles of Interstate 90 (I-90) between Bozeman and Livingston. The project begins at the Fort Ellis Road overpass and proceeds east through the canyon to the Jackson Creek Road Interchange (Exit 319). This week, crews will begin installing new rumble strips, guardrail, and signage in the project area. This is anticipated to take a few weeks to complete. Following installation of these items, construction may pause until warmer temperatures return to the area and a seal and cover (chip seal) can be applied to the pavement. Please visit the MDT’s website for updated information on this project. During construction:
- Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction.
- Flaggers or temporary signals may direct traffic on ramps and crossroads.
- Speed limits will be reduced.
- Interchange on- and off-ramps within the project area will be temporarily closed when chip seal is applied to Interstate 90 (I-90) in front of the ramps.
- Wide loads may be restricted at times. Visit 511mt.net for the most up-to-date information on width restrictions.
I-90 – Belgrade to Bozeman: Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), starting Sunday, April 19, crews plan to start milling and paving at night to minimize impacts on the traveling public. This work will require single-lane traffic and is expected to be completed between approximately 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays. 7th Avenue and 19th Avenue exit and on ramps will be closed periodically during this project. Traffic will return to two lanes during the day. Please visit the MDT’s website for updated information on this project.
