DHS Blue Campaign's #WearBlueDay on January 11
January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, a time to reflect on the resilience of trafficking survivors and the importance of recognizing and preventing this crime. Sunday, January 11, marks National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, also known as #WearBlueDay.
An awareness effort of the Department of Homeland Security's Blue Campaign, #WearBlueDay encourages public participation in raising awareness of trafficking worldwide. The Blue Campaign invites the public to:
- Wear blue, the international color of human trafficking awareness, to exemplify your commitment to help save lives.
- Post a photo of yourself, or with others, on social media using the hashtag #WearBlueDay.
- Empower others in your community to do the same.
On Wednesday, January 28, the Blue Campaign will host a Human Trafficking 101 webinar from 1:30-2:30 p.m. (CST). Click here to register for this free virtual event.
If you suspect a person may be a victim of human or labor trafficking, contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888. As MBAT members, we encourage you to remain vigilant as trafficking is not only on the rise but all around us.
To learn more about MBAT or utilize the MBAT resources, visit the MBAT website, email MBAT@sos.ms.gov, or call 601-359-6344.
