NASS SUMMER CONFERENCE IN BILOXI
We welcomed nearly 30 Secretaries of State from across the nation to our beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast for the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Summer Conference. With families, state staff, and corporate affiliates, nearly 400 attendees convened in Biloxi for the week.
The nonpartisan conference sessions focused on important topics such as business services, cybersecurity, and international relations. It's always refreshing to hear the unique perspectives and practices from colleagues across the country.
I'm excited to announce Mississippi was awarded the 2025 IDEAS (Innovation, Dedication, Excellence and Achievement in Service) Award for our SOS Student Ambassador Program. This program is one of the best things we have started during my tenure because of the opportunity to invest in and mentor Mississippi's future leaders. Further, having previously accepted the IDEAS Award in 2023 for the Tackle the Tape initiative, it is evident our team continues to receive well-deserved recognition on the national level.
At the conclusion of the conference, I was also sworn in to lead NASS as its 2025-2026 President. I'm honored and thrilled to begin this new role as we keep working together to better serve all Americans.
Thanks to the tireless efforts from my staff and NASS staff to organize the event, in addition to our generous businesses, we were able to showcase the best of the Hospitality State. Mississippi truly showed up and showed out!

PTV LAUNCH, I VOTED STICKER CONTEST
We recently unveiled our 2025 Promote the Vote (PTV) program. This year's theme "Winners Vote!" encourages students to see voting as a team sport.
Free and open to all Mississippi teachers and students, PTV is our office's K-12 voter education program. Not only does PTV help educate our next generation on the importance of civic duty and responsibility, but it also instills pride for voting at an early age.
|
We've listened to all of you about our "I Voted" stickers, so this year, we are excited to implement an "I Voted" sticker contest into the curriculum! Open to all registered voters in Mississippi, the contest's winning design will be used as the "I Voted" sticker for all 82 counties during the 2026 election cycle.
I encourage you to visit our website to learn more about PTV and help us spread the word in your schools and communities. If you have any questions or need assistance registering, please contact our office at PTV@sos.ms.gov.

NESHOBA COUNTY FAIR
It's always a highlight of the year to step up to the podium at the Neshoba County Fair to share some updates from our office including our plans to implement a new user-friendly digital campaign finance system in 2026. Additionally, our recent partnership with Experian® has provided our county election commissioners with an enhanced level of data to maintain our voter rolls. Free and fair elections begin from the bottom up, and I'm thankful to our election officials for their continued efforts.
