TACKLE THE TAPE UPDATE
I'm excited to announce we recently cast our 146th vote as a participating member of the Occupational Licensing Review Commission (OLRC). Each of these votes helps reduce regulatory burdens in Mississippi, making it easier for all to do business across our state.
July marks the five-year anniversary of Tackle the Tape (TTT), and I'm incredibly thankful for our team's completion of another year of hard work. We continue to work diligently to cut burdensome regulations and "rid the red" across Mississippi.
Since its inception, Tackle the Tape has made it easier for individuals to obtain or renew professional licensure, resulting in an abundance of new businesses and jobs. From nurses and pharmacists to licensed counselors, these OLRC votes have enabled these professionals to continue living and working in our state.
In our efforts to thoroughly review Mississippi's occupational licensing boards and commissions, we launched our 29 by 29 strategic plan in 2022. This plan details our goal to review all 29 boards and commissions by 2029. We stand ready and willing to assist Mississippians as we push back on overly-burdensome policies.
Should you encounter any regulations hindering your business or profession, I encourage you to contact our office. Additionally, visit our website to learn more about Tackle the Tape or to report a regulation.

VISIT WITH SUMMER INTERNS
I enjoyed getting to spend a full morning with our summer interns. They joined me for coffee, our senior staff meeting, and a meet and greet with the Stennis Institute's Junior Civics Leadership Academy.
Working in four different divisions across our agency, these interns have already been a tremendous help around the office. We're thrilled to have these young Mississippians with us this summer!
