VRR RECAP
In September, we began our second annual Voter Registration Road Trip in conjunction with National Voter Registration Month. Leading up to the November General Election voter registration deadline, our team visited numerous school across the state including universities, community colleges, high schools, and civic events.
Through our efforts, we registered 367 new voters during the month of September and over 257,000 since taking office in 2020. I am especially appreciative of our next generation of leaders who helped spearhead events in their communities. From Alcorn State to Pearl River Community College, Brookhaven High School to Ole Miss, our youngest Mississippians are championing the elections process.

HOBNOB
Proud to be among the 1,000 business executives, community leaders, and elected officials to attend the Mississippi Economic Council's Hobnob. This year is especially significant for our friends at MEC as they enter their 75th year serving the Mississippi business community. We appreciate all they do for Mississippians and the entire state.

TIDELANDS CHECK PRESENTATION
On behalf of the Gulf Coast legislative delegation, I was proud to present the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) with a check for $11,455,247, representing the Tidelands Trust Funds amounts collected during Fiscal Year 2023 for use during Fiscal Year 2024.
Revenue for the Tidelands Trust Funds is generated by leases on lands owned by the state in trust for the people of Mississippi and assessments for onshore gaming operations. Generated funds are dispersed to MDMR for programs and projects geared toward conservation, preservation of Mississippi tidelands, and increased public access to the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast.
As the first Secretary of State from the Coast, I have a unique perspective of the significance of the Mississippi Tidelands and ensuring we preserve such a beautiful and important resource, improve public access and spur economic development when possible.

TTT FELLOWS
Our team recently met with our first group of Tackle the Tape fellows. These outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from Mississippi universities will have the opportunity to work alongside our Tackle the Tape team to increase the economic opportunities for all Mississippians.
Not only do we hope to provide these students with an inside look at our efforts to reduce the regulatory burden in our state, but we also hope to mentor this group and promote job opportunities right here at home. I appreciate their willingness to serve with our team and look forward to seeing them lead our state in the years to come.
