MBAT Summit Announced

Our office continues to find ways to provide new and relevant content for our Mississippi Businesses Against Trafficking (MBAT) members. We are excited to announce we will be hosting an MBAT Summit the afternoon of January 24, 2023. We have partnered with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI), the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), and the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Center for Human Trafficking Research and Training (CHRT) to conduct a live event on the USM campus in Hattiesburg. This session will include educational information as well as a panel discussion.

Former U.S. Senator Trent Lott speaks to SOS Ambassadors

Our inaugural class of SOS Student Ambassadors had the opportunity to visit with former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott. The students loved hearing of his visits with foreign leaders, presidents, and U.S. congressmen. I am extremely grateful for the time that Senator Lott invested in me and am blessed to pay that forward to the next generation of Mississippi leaders!

SOS Christmas Party

Everywhere I go I make it a point to brag on the amazing folks that serve Mississippians each day at the Secretary of State's Office. It is so rewarding to pause during this season to not only celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, but to celebrate each other. I could not do what I do without the 100+ employees who serve Mississippi alongside me.

Celebrating Farm Bureau

As Mississippi Farm Bureau winds down their 100th year of great work in Mississippi, I want to say a big thanks to my friend, President Mike McCormick, for his steady leadership and commitment to Mississippi farmers. I was fortunate enough to spend a few hours visiting with him and many of our Mississippi farmers recently. Congratulations to another great year to Farm Bureau! We look forward to many great years to come.

Check Your Charity

Mississippians are known for their generosity, especially during the holiday season, but it's important to remember the wisest giver is an informed giver. Each year our office publishes the Report on Charitable Organizations as part of our Check Your Charity campaign, which encourages citizens to check the validity of a charity or organization before making a donation. Be sure to check it out prior to making your charitable donation!

Sherri has been employed with the Secretary of State's Office since 2001 and currently serves as an examiner in our Business Services & Regulation Division.

She is a team player and always a great person with whom to share a laugh and smile. Sherri has been a top-notch examiner who brings with her 20+ years of knowledge each day. Her uplifting and caring spirit are a shining light to her division but also the entire agency. She is an extremely hard worker who dedicates as much time to her family as she does to her job.

We are grateful for her service to our agency and all of Mississippi!
