Minnesota businesses and organizations can receive a grant to purchase bicycles and electric-assisted bicycles (e-bikes) for commercial use through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's (MPCA) Small Business Environmental Assistance Program!
This is an exciting opportunity for Minneapolis businesses who have been considering the use of bicycles as a part of their operations. Cost-effective, easy to maneuver and park, and environmentally friendly, cargo bikes can make economic sense for many types of business—especially those that operate in dense cities.
Information to help applicants submit proposals and access the online application portal can be found on the e-bikes for business grant webpage.
Applications are due no later than 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, through the SWIFT Supplier Portal.
Key Information to Know:
The maximum grant award is $24,500 and the minimum grant award is $3,000 per applicant.
Grantees are required to provide a 25% match toward the project's total cost.
To qualify, the bicycles or e-bikes must be actively used for one or both of the following purposes:
- delivery services: moving property or goods
- commercial services: moving equipment, supplies, or tools for installation, repair, or maintenance jobs
Up to $200 per new bike or e-bike may also be awarded for the following eligible accessories:
- bike helmets, bike lights, locks, luggage racks, baskets, cargo trailers, and/or panniers/bags/backpacks
If you own, work for, or know of a Minneapolis business that would benefit from adding a cargo e-bike to its fleet, don't miss applying for this grant!
