Summer may almost be officially over but there's still plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the best of Minneapolis' great streets and neighborhoods. Don't let the season pass you by!

Open Streets Debuts On Hennepin Avenue S!

The final Open Streets of 2025 will kick off on Hennepin Avenue tomorrow, Saturday, September 20th from 11-5 PM. Hennepin Avenue S will be closed to cars between 26th Street W and 36th Street W.

While the final event of the year, this celebration also represents a surprising first—the debut Open Streets on Hennepin Avenue S. It may be hard to believe, but Minneapolis' festival of car-free streets has never before been held on one of the city's most iconic thoroughfares.

Sponsored by the Uptown Association, Saturday's event will spotlight the great local businesses, community, and creativity of the Uptown area. It's also a great opportunity to explore and celebrate the brand-new design of Hennepin Avenue, which improves access, safety, and comfort for all road users. Construction on Phase II of the corridor (north of 26th Street) will wrap up later this year.
