$16.37 Minneapolis Minimum Wage in 2026 for all employers
There is a higher Minimum Wage in Minneapolis than the rest of the state. It is now the same for everyone across the city and increases every January 1st.
In 2025, the Minneapolis Minimum Wage is $15.97. On January 1, 2026, it will increase for inflation to $16.37.
Coverage depends on the physical location (in Minneapolis) of the employee while performing work. It applies regardless of employer size or the employee's age.
Employee Notice and Labor Poster
Employers must display in workplaces and distribute the Labor Standards Poster to new hires and issue written, prehire notices (in electronic or printed form, including Spanish if needed) of certain terms of employment - including required sick time- to all employees at the start of their employment (or when conditions change).
Technical Assistance
If contacted proactively by an employer, the City will review policies, payroll records and/or timekeeping systems to help confirm compliance moving forward without assessing any fines or penalties.
