Celebrate the 1^st Avenue NE and E Hennepin Avenue Improvements!

All are invited to a Wednesday, July 30th community celebration of the recently completed 1^st Avenue NE and E Hennepin Avenue multi-modal improvements!

This street project completed pedestrian enhancements, protected bikeways, and busways from Main Street to 8^th Street in the downtown Northeast area, improving safety and comfort in this fast-growing neighborhood and commercial hub.

The celebration will start at 5:30 PM at the intersection of E Hennepin Avenue and SE Main Street with some remarks, giveaways, and free ice cream (while supplies last). Afterwards, join a community ride or walk on the improved streets!

Minneapolis is investing in infrastructure to make bicycling easier, safer, and more comfortable for all trips. Through our Transportation Action Plan (TAP), the City is committed to advance safe, modern, and convenient transportation options for all residents. A key component of the TAP is to encourage drivers to shift away from personal vehicle trips and have 60% of trips taken by walking, rolling, biking, or transit by 2030.
